I just put up my Miata for sale...The ad won't show up yet though. The few drops of blood and sweat I put up for this car will be gone with all the parts I gathered in my garage and this kinda makes me sad.

But i'll get this in return.

It's been a little over a month that I kept thinking about it. I think it's time I get it and the price got down even more.

High mileage. I think it's the highest mileage NC Miata I ever seen with 240000 KM on it. The engine has been changed by the Mazda dealership for a 2012 engine (stronger engine with 51000 KM) Also one wheel bearing need to be changed, the suspension linkage also, a trim next to the driver seat but nothing too crazy. People are not attracted because of that. Also why buy this if you can have a much lower mileage NC base model for 2000$ more? For some people it's important. I'm only buying this Miata because I can fix it myself and it's FULLY equipped and hot!

Hey, you can turn a wrench, you enjoy a challenge and as always, it's a Miata. Can't get a whole lot more Jalop than that. Except maybe if it was a brown turbo diesel wagon with manual. But then it wouldn't be a Miata would it?

Don't do an MSM, you are better off with a base pre 02 NB with the torsen and one of the varying turbo kits, you'll end up spending less but with more power and still room to upgrade the suspension and tires. The benefits of the MSM don't really outweigh the performance of a turbo'd base car with supporting mods. Unless you just want to say you own an MSM then that is a different story. I also am not a fan of the 6sp box in the MSM but that is personal preference in not having to shift all the damn time. 0-60 in the MSM you have to get into 3rd as 2nd only gets you to ~52 if my memory serves correctly.

I've heard that the RX-8 sways make a difference for the NC. That is a cheap route to go for the sways. Remember to look up all the spring/shock combos on M.net as there are countless discussions about what is best for the NC. . . Enjoy it and have fun with a little more power and a little more weight.

Is this that NC you were looking at a little while ago with the high mileage and worn suspension?

Good stuff man. At least you know the suspension is shot and all new bushings, shocks, springs and sways need to be put on there. I still haven't delved into figuring out what the reliability is >150,000 miles is, but as long as it was cared for you should be fine.

Some guys really like the way a sorted NC handles better than they like the way a sorted NA/NB handles. I'm sure you'll have fun with it once you put some blood and sweat equity into it. The good news is people take pretty much brand new shocks off those for their "race car" builds and sell the barely used stuff for a reasonable price as well. I am looking forward to hear how you like the NC coming from an NA, and also how much you'll miss the pop-ups. . .
